Octavo [25 cm] 3/4 red leather with marbled paper covered boards. The spines have been amateurishly rebacked with simple red cloth tape. Each volume has a circular gilt illustration of a sunrise over a wheat field on the upper part of the front leather. Top edges gilt. Pale red marbled endpapers. Fair condition only. The covers are rubbed, and the underlying boards are exposed along the edges. The corners are rounded. Some of the red cloth tape, on the spines is curling back and separating. Hinges are all cracked with the exception of the rear hinges of volumes three and four, where they are starting. Some of the boards are fairly loose; free front endpaper in volume 1 is separated entirely and laid in. Some of the text blocks are pulling away from the covers. There may be other detached pages and loose gatherings. As is.
