Plate XII. To face page 33. One of the thirty original hand-colored, engraved astrological charts from A Celestial Atlas by Alexander Jamieson. The Engraving Company is Neele & Son. The charts contain primarily depictions of stars visible to the human eye, with the constellations drawn in for clarity. Some of his maps include a few major constellations featured in the image, the hand color emphasizing their designs. Other constellations are traced in outline, but without color. The maps are beautifully executed and the atlas earned the honor of being allowed to be dedicated to King George IV.
