Considered the most important Welsh writer of the postwar period, with a writing career that spanned decades. A candidate for poet laureate of England (which eventually went to Ted Hughes). A member of both the Welsh Academy and England's Royal Society of Literature and winner of the prestigious Cholmondeley Poetry Prize, Leslie Norris was a poet of the first order who will be greatly missed.
