Very good. The edges of the covers are gently rubbed and bumped. There are a couple of short closed tears in the spine ends. The text block is cracked at p. 487. The pages are very mildly browned.
Includes Major J. W. Powell's, The Canons of the Colorado, beginning on p. 293. In 1869, ten men in four boats embarked on a journey that would cover almost 1,000 miles through uncharted canyons and change the west forever. Three months later only five of the original company plus the one-armed Civil War hero leader, John Wesley Powell, would return from the depths of the Grand Canyon at the mouth of the Virgin River. Major John Wesley Powell was 35 years old when led the expedition.
