Folio [30 cm] Rebound in sturdy red cloth with gilt stamped titles on the spine and front cover. All edges gilt. Very good. The edges of the covers are lightly rubbed. The pages are mildly browned, and occasionally lightly soiled.
With Memoir of Dore and Descriptive Letter-Press by Talbot W. Chambers. Gustave Doré was a world renowned 19th century illustrator. Despite having illustrated over 200 books, some with more than 400 plates, he is primarily known for his illustrations to The Divine Comedy, particularly The Inferno, his illustrations to Don Quixote, and Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven.
