21 cm by 13 cm albumen photo. Image is titled 'Mormon Tabernacle.' No back stamp. Image and mount are clean. On the reverse is the following short contemporary note in ink "Aug 1894. - 150 ft wide - 250 ft long. - Seating capacity for 9000 people."

A striking image from the renowned pioneer Mormon photographer, Charles Roscoe Savage. Savage was a prolific Mormon photographer who photographed throughout Utah and the western United States. He is noted for taking the first photographs of what would later become Zion National Park and he recorded the construction of the Mormon Temple and Tabernacle in Salt Lake City.
