429pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Black cloth covered boards with a yellow ink stamped title on the spine and light gray ink stamped decorative designs on the spine and front cover. Very good. The spine ends are gently bumped. There are 4 small stains on the edges of the text block. The rear endsheet has a couple of small stains and abraded patches. The dust jacket is in very good condition as well. Slightly yellowed, and very gently soiled and creased. The edges are lightly chipped and have several short closed tears. Price-clipped.
From the jacket- "His [Richard K. Nelson's] is the first account of Eskimo hunting techniques learned by direct participation- a feat requiring, among other attributes, physical agility, endurance, and a sense of humor robust enough to stand up to the sometimes merciless ridicule which is part of the Eskimo instructional system."
