258pp. Twenty-fourmo [13 cm] Red leather with a gilt stamped title on the spine. Good. The covers are mildly rubbed, scratched and darkened. There are several small stains on the front cover, and there is a large stain on the rear cover, which measures 4 inches long by 1 and 1/2 inches wide. There are small losses from the leather at the ends of the spine and surrounding areas. There are two 1/2 centimeter chips in the leather near the head of the spine, revealing the underlying boards. There are several cracks in the leather of the spine, along the joints. The longest crack measures 1 inch long. The corners of the covers are bumped. The underlying boards are exposed occasionally along the edges. There is a contemporary owner's notation on the front pastedown. The endsheets are lightly soiled and stained. There are several 1 inch long cracks along the hinges. There are a couple of small light stains in the top margins of the first pages. Else, the pages are very clean. The book is sturdy.

Flake 6649. Pratt's Voice of Warning was not the first LDS publication to lay out the tenets and theology of the fledgling Mormon Faith, but it was the first to specifically lay out the differences of Mormonism and other Christian Faiths. One of the most important and early volumes of Mormon doctrine.
