520pp. Octavo [24 cm] 3/4 leather with black pebbled cloth covered boards. Title gilt stamped on front board and backstrip. Good. Recased, with work done at the ends of the spine and along the joints. The covers are lightly rubbed. The edges of the text block are slightly scratched. There are losses from the leather at the ends of the spine, and all along the joints. The largest loss at the head of the spine, measures 1 inch wide by 1/2 inch deep. There is a 1/4 inch loss from the leather at the foot of the spine. There is a 1 inch long crack in the leather at the head of the spine along the front joint. The endsheets are cracked along the hinges. There are small light moisture stains in the bottom margins of the first four pages. They measure 1 inch wide by 1/2 inch tall. The first frontispiece has been reattached with cloth binder's tape. The frontispiece is faintly offset on the title page. The pages are yellowed.
