278pp. Octavo [21 cm] Tan cloth covered boards with black ink stamped titles, and a green ink stamped designs, and a mounted illustrated label on the front cover. Good. The covers are lightly rubbed and soiled. The spine is darkened and heavily rubbed. There are several very small dark stains on the front cover. The underlying boards are peeking through at the corners. Minor spine slant. The spine ends are gently bumped. The hinges are a little weak. The text block is just starting to crack at the title page. There are a couple of small dark stains on pp. 2-3.
Maynard Dixon declared about his own art, "My work, outside the limits of illustration, is not the regulation "Wild West" type painting. I aim rather to interpret the vastness...loneliness, and the sense of freedom this country inspires"
