508pp. Octavo [18.5 cm] Brown cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine. Good. The covers are gently rubbed, and very lightly stained. The underlying boards are exposed occasionally along the edges. The spine is very subtly darkened and rolled, and there are 1/2 cm losses from the cloth at the spine ends. There is also a 1/4 inch chip in the cloth at the head of the spine. There are several very small light moisture stains on the spine. There are several splits in the cloth along the rear joint. The longest split measures 2 inches long. The corners of the covers are bumped. There is a large darkened patch on the front endsheet. Foxing throughout the pages. There is a tiny closed tear in the fore edge margin of the rear flyleaf. The text block is cracked at the Preface page.
