SIGNED. Folio [35 cm] Various colors of cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles on the spines. Illustrated endsheets. In paper covered slipcases with illustrated paper labels mounted to the side panels. Most volumes are in very good condition. Volume 1 is in good condition only. The covers are gently rubbed. Some of the spines are a little faded. The edges of the text blocks are very sporadically lightly stained or soiled. The edges of the text blocks of Volume 1 are heavily stained. There is a gift inscription on the half title page of Volume 3, Part 1. Several names in pen on the half title page of Volume 5, Part 1. The slipcases are in good condition only. Gently soiled, rubbed and bumped. There are numerous large splits along the sporadically faded edges. There are occasional moisture stains or partial rings on the surfaces. The paper is peeling away from a couple of the edges. Most of the edges of the slipcase of volume 1 are split.Extra charges apply on this item due to weight.
Will require extra postage due to weight. Inscribed by Harold William Rickett on the half title pages of Volume 2, Part 1. Signed and dated by Rickett on the half title pages of Volume 3, Part 1, and Volume 5, Part 1 as well. Rickett was appointed Assistant Bibliographer at New York Botanical Garden in 1939.
