249pp. Octavo [21 cm] Brown cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine. Very good. The edges of the spine and covers are gently bumped and rubbed. A small portion of the dust jacket is adhered to the bottom edge of the front cover. Very minor spine slant. The top edge of the text block is darkened and slightly scratched. There is a small indentation in the bottom edge of the text block. The pages are very mildly browned. The dust jacket is in very good condition, with numerous small losses from the edges and spine ends. The largest loss measures 1/2 inch wide by 1/4 inch deep. The paper on the spine has multiple very small barely perceptible stains. The jacket is also lightly rubbed and creased. The corners of the jacket are clipped. No visible price on the jacket.

From the jacket- "His effort here has been to analyze the content of the modern mind in the wake of discoveries, scientific and otherwise, which during the past hundred years have been threatening to remove from man his sense of importance in the universe."
