Description

67+997pp. Very large quartos [29 cm] Olive green cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles on the spines, and small gilt stamped designs on the spines and covers. Good only. The spines and covers are rubbed, bumped and subtly stained. The edges of the text blocks are lightly soiled, and have multiple small stains. Light soiling here and there throughout the pages, but the majority of the pages are clean. The front hinge of volume 1 is weak, and the other hinges in both volumes are broken. The rear endsheet of volume 1 is partially split along the hinge, and the text block of volume 1 is cracked multiple times, exposing the underlying cords in the gutters throughout. Pages 136, 178, and 184 are adhered to the neighboring pages in the inside margins, and are a little torn. The front free endsheet of volume 2 is partially detached. As is.
