359pp. Octavo [21.5 cm] 1/4 red cloth with black paper covered boards, a gilt stamped title on the spine, and simple small orange ink stamped designs on the front cover. Very good. The spine ends are gently bumped. The pages are mildly yellowed. The dust jacket is in very good condition. Subtly yellowed, and ever so slightly soiled and rubbed. There is a small abraded patch on the front panel, and there is a small stain on the rear panel. The edges are just a little bumped and chipped.

"The whole novel is crowded with a swarming mass of human beings, themselves victims of one sort or another, herded together in the corridors of a dilapidated hotel. It demolishes everything in its way, copulates, defecates, screams for violence, rages for destruction, insists on scapegoats..." - Erika Ostrovsky, Celine and His Vision
