326pp. Octavo [22 cm] Blue and black cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine. Very good. The edges of the spine and covers are rubbed, bumped and faded. The spine is very slightly rolled back. There is a short closed tear in the top edge of the front free endsheet. The pages are browned. The dust jacket is in very good condition, with rubbing. The edges are chipped and creased. Very mildly soiled. There is a small loss from the paper at the foot of the spine. There are several very short closed tears in the edges as well.

From the jacket- "A country within a country, Texas, throughout the four centuries of her history, has been the meeting point of alien people and diverse heritages, so that today she represents the focal point of many conflicting cultures."
