338pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Dark red cloth with black vein-like designs, and with gilt stamped titles on the front cover and spine. Very good. The edges of the spine and covers are lightly rubbed. The title on the front board is a bit faded. There is a former owner's bookplate on the front pastedown. The pages are ever so slightly yellowed. With the fold out map.

With the passing of the Edmunds-Tucker Act of 1887, Many polygamists decided to remove themselves from the grasp of the Federal Government by moving to Mexico, where they believed (erroneously) polygamy was legal. This is the scarce first edition history of all of the Mormon polygamous colonies in Mexico.
