Description

SIGNED. 311pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Black cloth covered boards with gilt and white ink stamped titles on the spine and front cover. Good. The spine ends are gently bumped, and the spine is subtly rolled. There is a very small light stain on the top fore edge of the text block, and the bottom edge of the text block is a little scuffed. There is a former owner's name on the front pastedown. The front hinge is a little weak. Thye dust jacket is in very good condition. The spine and surrounding areas are faded. The edges are gently bumped. The jacket is also very lightly soiled.

Comments

Signed with a brief notation by Dorothy M. Johnson on the front free endsheet. From the Preface- "What is a bastard? Technically, it's a person whose parents weren't married. But this kind of bastard can't help it. He's not responsible for what Mommy and Daddy did or didn't do. But there's another kind, defined in The American Heritage Dictionary as "an obnoxious or nasty person." That's the kind of bastards we're talking about- villains, murderers, plotters, stinkers, knaves, and assorted rascals."
