487pp. Elephant folio [38 cm] Light brown padded leather with gilt stamped titles on the spine and front cover, and an illustrated paper label mounted to the front cover. In a brown paper covered slipcase with a gilt stamped decorative title on the side panel. Very good. The covers are ever so slightly cocked. There is a very small light stain on the front cover. The spine is faded. The slipcase is in very good condition. The edges are very gently bumped and rubbed.


May require extra postage due to weight. A deluxe modern edition. Number 539 of 1,500. With the limited edition illustrated certificate mounted to the front free endsheet. This special limited edition is bound in hand-crafted leather by Brown & Bigelow. The publisher writes, "Nathaniel Currier and James Merritt Ives became famous as publishers of color prints depicting American life. They were true historians, and although there is a touch of sentimentality in many of their prints, they published a factual documentation of the latter half of the 1800's in America."
