This work was published sixteen years after Ruess disappeared in the wilds of Southern Utah. The mystery surrounding artist and poet Everett Ruess (1914-1934) continues to the present day. Ruess, who loved to explore the expansive lands of the west, disappeared in the wilderness of Utah in 1934. No trace of him has ever been found. Farquhar 119b
