718pp. Octavo [22 cm] 3/4 black leather with green cloth covered boards and a gilt stamped title on the spine. Good. The extremities are gently rubbed. The spine is rolled, and the covers are subtly concave. There is a loss from the head of the spine that measures 1 inch wide by 1/2 inch deep. The front board has a thin 1/2 inch gouge, and there are 5 or 6 very tinyy stains on the covers. There is a contemporary gift inscription on the front pastedown. The front pastedown and title page are slightly soiled. The title page is beginning to detach at the foot of the page. There are sporadic notations, and there is very occasional creasing of the pages. Light stains on the pages here and there. Pp. 295-99 have darker stains, however they are small.
