New York: T. Kinnersley, 1835-1836. Leather bound. 366; 272pp. Octavo [23 cm] 3/4 brown leather with marbled paper covered boards. Good. The spine and covers are rubbed. There is a former owner's name stamped in gilt at the foot of the spine. One of the leather spine labels is completely absent, and the edges of the second spine label are chipped, obscuring a small portion of the gilt title. There are multiple thin cracks in the surface of the leather spine. The leather at the head of the spine is torn, and has a loss that measures 1 inch deep by 3/4 of an inch wide. The underlying boards are exposed along the edges. The front endsheet is cracked along the hinge, and the underlying cords are visible. There are numerous dark patches along the endsheets and flyleaves. The pages are heavily foxed. There are light damp stains in the edges of the pages. The largest stains measure 3 inches wide by 3/4 of an inch deep. The book is sturdy. Item #31426
