The spine and areas of the boards are faded and heavily rubbed. Rolled spine. There are small losses from the torn cloth at the spine ends. There are also multiple small splits, along with a very small open tear, in the cloth of the spine. The hinges are stained. The underlying boards are exposed at the bumped corners. There is an old label from a previous bookseller on the front pastedown. There is a contemporary owner's name in pencil on the fourth flyleaf. The frontispiece is partially detached. There is a small loss from the fore edge of the preface page. The pages are occasionally heavily foxed. The text block is cracked multiple times, and it is just beginning to come away from the spine. As is.
