276pp. Octavo [22 cm] Light green cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine, and a red, white and dark green ink stamped title and vignette on the front cover. Top edge gilt. Very good. The extremities are very gently bumped and rubbed. The spine and small areas of the covers are darkened. Insignificant spine lean. There is a former owner's small bookplate on the front pastedown, and there is a contemporary gift inscription on the front free endsheet in pencil. The text block is just barely beginning to crack at the center. The pages are slightly yellowed.
Edward Stewart White was an American author and conservationist who wrote The Blazed Trail in 1902. He also wrote works with metaphysical themes, historical works, travel and adventure books, children's books, essays, and short stories.
