SIGNED by Kreinberg. 198pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Black hardcover with a gilt stamped title on backstrip. Very good. The spine ends and edges of the covers are gently bumped and rubbed. There is also a little bit of barely perceptible rubbing along the front joint. In a near fine dust jacket, with minor edge wear and insignificant soiling on the rear panel.

Photographs by Richard Younker. Foreword by William Appleman Williams. This provocative and beautifully written book will challenge every one of your assumptions about the past, present and future life of big-city neighborhoods. 'Street Signs Chicago' is indispensable not only for Chicagoans and those interested in Chicago history, but for everyone who wishes to understand the growth, prosperity, conflicts and problematic futures of American cities. Signed, with a brief notation, on the front free endsheet by Lew Kreinberg.
