Octavo [21 cm] Blue cloth covered boards with printed paper spine labels. Top edges gilt. Other edges deckled. Very good. Ex-library (from a Church library). The extremities are gently rubbed, scratched and bumped, and the spines are sporadically rolled forward or back. The spine labels have occasional small moisture stains and small losses from the edges. The covers and spines also have small light moisture stains here and there. There are multiple library markings on the endsheets. The pages are subtly yellowed. There are numerous small stains on the covers of volume 1. The text block of volume 1 is cracked at the beginning. There are large moisture stains on the spines of volumes 4 and 5. The cloth at the ends of the spines of volumes 15 and 16 is frayed. The cloth on the front board of volume 16 is heavily scratched. May require extra postage due to weight.
Number 659 of 1500 sets. Prescott is one of the most widely translated American historians, and was a main figure in the development of history as a serious academic discipline.
