706; 8pp. Sextodecimo [17 cm] Olive green cloth with a gilt stamped title on the spine. Very good. The extremities are ever so slightly bumped and rubbed. The covers are just a little bit cocked. There are two very minor stains along the rear joint. A few pages have underlining and marginalia. With a dust jacket in very good condition. There are multiple small open tears along the edges. The jacket also has a short closed tear, and 4 or 5 tiny light stains. Number 244 in the Loeb Classical Library.
From the dust jacket- "The surviving speeches... fluent, simple and graceful in style yet vivid in description, and in expression of character, suggest that Lysias, though an over-passionate partisan was a gentle humorous man loyal to the Athenian democracy."
