590pp. Quarto [25 cm] White cloth covered boards with black ink stamped titles and vignettes on the spine and front cover. Decorative endsheets. Fair only. The extremities are soiled and stained. The decorative paint over the boards and spine is chipped along the edges and joints. There are a handful of small dark ink stains on the top fore edge corner of the text block. The front hinge is broken and the text block is pulling away from the spine. The text block is also cracked at the end. There is a contemporary owner's notation on the front flyleaf. The pages are browned, and have sporadic staining. P. 271 has more prominent staining. There are 1 inch long closed tears in the margins of p. 33 and p. 337, and there is a slightly longer closed tear in the bottom margin of p. 278.
