527pp. Quarto [28.5 cm] Dark red cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles on the backstrip and front cover. Good. The extremities are gently bumped, and the edges of the text block are subtly stained. The text block is fragile in many places, and the threads are visible in the inside margins. Very occasional brief highlighting throughout the pages. There is a brief notation in pen on the verso of the last index page. The dust jacket is heavily worn, with numerous pieces of tape along the torn edges. Also rubbed, rippled and creased. May require extra postage due to weight.
Subjects include Sarah Effie Careena Blaylock, Jane Woodfield Chadwick, Jacob Samuel Ferrin, Leroy Snooks, Elizabeth Ward Storey, and many others. From the Preface- "The journey to Utah was a perilous one. They traveled over uncharted roads, forded streams, climbed mountains, suffered hunger, sickness and death. They emigrated to a wilderness area. They came to North Ogden, hoping to find a place to rest, where they would not be molested on account of their religion."
