570pp. Quarto [26 cm] Blue cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title and decorative designs on the spine, and embossed patterns on the covers. All edges gilt. Good. The extremities are gently rubbed and bumped. The spine is very subtly faded. The gilt stamped edges of the text block are rubbed. There is minor darkening to the front board. There are two inch long horizontal splits in the cloth at the near the ends of the spine. Re-enforced hinges. Brief notation in pencil on the top edge of the front free endsheet. The text block is cracked multiple times, however it is still sturdy. Browned pages. May require extra postage due to weight.
He compiled of A Lexicon of Freemasonry in 1845, and then went on to publish many books on Freemasonry, most notably, An Encyclopedia of Freemasonry.
