Description

Black cloth covered boards with red ink stamped titles on the spine and front cover. Good only. The extremities are lightly rubbed and soiled, and the spine is rolled. There is a large, but faint moisture ring on the front cover. The cloth at the spines ends and corners is chipped and frayed, and the underlying boards are exposed in many areas near and along the edges. There are also two very small splits in the cloth of the spine near the front joint. There are numerous small stains on the edges of the text block. Weak hinges. The endsheets are foxed, and the rear endsheet is split along the hinge. The text block is cracked several times. Very occasional small light stains on the tanned pages.

Comments

After serving in World War I, Milt Gross began producing strips like 'Frenchy', 'Banana Oil' and 'Help Wanted', but his major break came with 'Gross Exaggerations', a weekly column of prose and cartoons.
