There is a former owner's bookplate on the front pastedown of volume 1, and there is a bookplate on the rippled front free endsheet of volume 2. There is a previous owner's name in pen on the front free endsheet of volume 3. In very good dust jackets. The inside flaps of volume 1's jacket are mildly age-toned. There are several very small stains on the bottom edge of this dust jacket as well. The dust jacket of volume 3 is stained along the folds of the inside flaps on the internal backside of the jacket. May require extra postage due to weight.
Volumes 1, 3, and 4 are first editions. Volume 2 is a book club edition. From the dust jacket- "The Years of Lyndon Johnson is the political biography of our time. Here is the perfect joining of subject and writer: Johnson, the man of awesome complexity, energy, ambition, and power- obsessed with secrecy, obscuring (often 'rewriting') the facts of his personal and political life; Caro, his biographer, awarded both the Pulitzer and Parkman Prizes for his life of Robert Moses, The Power Broker- and everywhere acclaimed for the brilliance, tenacity, and integrity of his research, for his grasp of character and of the workings of power."
