86pp. Quarto [28.5 cm] Light green cloth covered boards with yellow ink stamped titles, and a yellow ink stamped design of Pagoo on the front cover. Very good. The extremities are gently bumped and rubbed. The boards are a little bit concave. The top edge of the text block is lightly foxed. Subtly tanned pages. In a good dust jacket. Age-toned and slightly rubbed. The edges have 5 closed tears and several small losses. There are several pieces of tape backing these tears. The longest closed tear is 1 and 1/2 inches long. The widest loss is 1 inch wide, and the deepest loss is 1 inch deep. Library Edition, however this is not an ex-library copy.
Holling Clancy Holling (1900-1973) was a teacher, freelance designer, advertising artist, and book illustrator. With the aid of his wife Lucille, he illustrated The Book of Indians (1935) and The Book of Cowboys (1936). He went on to write and illustrate fiction, combining nature and history themes.
