Large octavos [25 cm] Brown cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles on the spines. Top edges gilt. Other edges deckled. Most volumes are in very good condition. Six or seven volumes are in good condition only. The edges of the spine and covers are very lightly rubbed and bumped. Occasional subtle spine slants (either forward or back). There are minor stains to the extremities here and there. Tanned pages. Some uncut pages. Light offsetting from the frontispiece pages. The text blocks of volume 1, 11 and 12 are cracked at the front or the rear. There is a small open tear in the surface of the frontispiece tissue guard of volume 17. There is a very small stain on the title page of this volume as well. The fore edges of the covers of volumes 18, 19, and 21 are damp stained. Short split in the front endsheet of volume 30 along the hinge. May require extra postage due to weight.
