688pp. Folio [31.5 cm] Oriental bark paper covered stiff card boards decorated with bright red labels. Sewn Chinese binding. Both volumes are placed in a solander container compounded of orange and Chinese red. In an orange paper covered slipcase. The books are in near fine condition. The pages are tanned. There is a previous owner's address label on the rear pastedown of volume 2. The solander case is in very good condition. The card boards are mildly curled, and the front board has a large area of very subtle fading. The spine is just a bit darkened and stained. The slipcase is tattered and in pieces. The condition of the slipcase has been noted in the price. May require extra postage due to weight.
Signed by the illustrator, Miguel Covarrubias, on the limitation page. Number 731 of 1,500. With the Monthly Letter of The Limited Editions Club tucked in. Pearl S. Buck's The Good Earth won the Pulitzer Prize.
