683; 591; 733pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Green pebbled cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles on the spines. Very good. The extremities are gently bumped and rubbed. The pages are tanned. The endsheets and flyleaves have previous owners' names, dates, and addresses. There are a couple of tiny stains on the front cover of volume 1, and there are several splits in the cloth at the foot of the spine of volume 1. The longest split is horizontal, and measures 3/4 of an inch long. There is a 4 inch long split in the front endsheet along the hinge. The frontispiece of volume 1 is offset on the title page. With 7 maps in the rear pockets. The "Map of the Theatre of War 1861-1865" has a small loss from the bottom edge, along with a 3/4 inch closed tear. Another copy of this same map has a couple of small chips in the edges.
