440pp. Octavo [24 cm] 3/4 black leather with pebbled black cloth covered boards. Good. The spine and covers are rubbed. The covers have large, but light damp stains. There is a 2 inch long crack in the front board, at the head of the spine along the joint. There are numerous small stains on the edges of the text block. The endsheets and flyleaves have numerous dark patches along the edges, and the endsheets are cracked along the hinges. There is a thin damp stain that runs along the top edge of the frontispiece page, and there is a small moisture stain in the bottom edge. Off-setting from the illustrations on the opposite pages. The pages have very sporadic light moisture stains in the margins. There are tiny stab marks in the inside margins of many of the pages. The book is sturdy. Flake 2479.
