The front board is cosmetically cracked, and it is detached at the ends. The corners of the covers are bumped. There is a loss from the leather at the head of the spine that measures 1 inch wide by just under 1/4 of an inch deep. There are also a couple of 1 inch long tears in the leather at the foot of the spine. There are numerous contemporary notations on the front endsheet and flyleaf, and the front free endsheet is partially detached. The pages are browned and sporadically foxed. The text block is cracked at the beginning.
John Woolman traveled through the frontier regions of British North America to preach Quaker beliefs, as well as fight slavery and the slave trade, cruelty to animals, and economic injustices and oppression.
