Octavo [23 cm] Thickly woven brown cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles against black ink stamped panels on the spines. Top edges gilt, other edges untrimmed. Most volumes are in good condition, some are in fair condition only. Light soiling and rubbing to the extremities. The boards have occasional small stains. Spine ends and corners gently bumped. The spines are very subtly rolled forward or back. There are closed tears in the backstrips of a couple of the volumes. Some uncut pages here and there. Many of the endsheets are cracked along the hinges, and the text blocks are sporadically cracked. Volume 3 is in fair condition only. The hinges are broken, and the text block is coming away from the binding. The edges of the pages are chipped and torn, and the front endsheet is stained. Missing pages of the text at the end. Volumes 9-12, and 14 are also in fair condition only, with the text blocks either completely or nearly completely detached from the covers. The frontispiece tissue guard of volume 7 is absent. As is. May require extra postage due to weight.
