1399pp. Large quarto [30 cm] Full leather with raised bands and gilt stamped titles on backstrip. New endsheets. Good. The spine and covers are rubbed. There are small losses from the leather at the ends of the spine. There is a 3" tear at the head of the backstrip along the front joint. This tear was glued at one time, and the glue is visible. The underlying boards are exposed at the corners. There are occasional small closed and open tears in the margins of the pages. P. 49 has a long horizontal closed tear through the middle. The text block is beginning to crack at p. 625. There is a 2 inch long tape repair in the inside margin of the rear flyleaf.
