624pp. Octavo [22 cm] 3/4 light brown leather with marbled paper covered boards, gilt stamped raised bands, and red and black gilt stamped leather spine labels. Marbled text block edges. Good. The spine and covers are lightly rubbed. There is a bookseller's small blind stamp on the front free endsheet. There are sporadic small stains on the pages. Occasional damp stains on the plates. The larger stains measure 3 inches wide by 2 inches deep. A handful of the plates at the center have very large stains on them. The book is very sturdy. No frontispiece portrait of Dickens or half-title. All other plates present. Chapman and Hall imprint on the plates preceding p. 45. "Sister" on p. 123. "Latter" on p. 160.
