Bound in 3/4 red leather with maroon cloth covered boards, and a gilt stamped title on the spine. Very good. Extremities rubbed. The underlying boards are exposed at the corners. Tiny numerical notation on the front free endsheet. There are a couple of adhered patches of paper on the front pastedown. There is a previous owner's notation on the verso of the front free endsheet, and there is a contemporary gift inscription on the front flyleaf. The collection includes: "My Reasons for Leaving the Church of England and Joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" by R.M. Bryce Thomas,"Character of the Latter-day Saints," Scriptural Revelations of the Universal Apostasy," "The Restoration of the Everlasting Gospel" by George Teasdale, "Necessity of Revelation," "The New Birth, as Taught by Christ and his Apostles," Baptism, How and by Whom Adminstered," "First Principles of the True Gospel of Christ," "Rays of Living Light from The Doctrines of Christ" by Charles W. Penrose, "Mormonism, Its Origin and History" by B.H. Roberts, "Was Joseph Smith Sent of God?" by Orson Pratt, "The Book of Mormon. History of the Witnesses," "The Latter-Day Saints and the World" by William A. Morton. This last pamphlet has three inkstamps on the front cover. Inscription on the ffep written to Charles W. Penrose, a former editor of the Deseret News in Salt Lake City and a member of the first presidency of the LDS Church.
