Illustrations by N.C. Wyeth. A lovely copy of this classic illustrated book. N. C. Wyeth was a pupil of Howard Pyle. As a teacher, Pyle stressed the importance of dramatic effects in painting and the personal knowledge of one's subject in their work. After nearly 5 months of study, Wyeth was able to successfully submit a cover illustration to the Saturday Evening Post. Over time, Wyeth's illustrations were featured in many popular magazines, such as Century, Harper's Monthly, Ladies' Home Journal, McClure's, Outing, and Scribner's.
