434pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] Olive green cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles on the spine and front cover, and a decorative vignette stamped in silver, gilt, red and black ink on the front cover. Good only. The spine and covers are abraded, and the spine is heavily rolled and darkened. There are subtle tide marks on the fore edge of the front cover. The cloth at the spine ends and corners is frayed, with some loss to the cloth at the foot of the spine. There is a damp stain on the top edge of the text block that measures 1 and 1/2" wide by 3/4 of an inch tall. The title page is beginning to detach at the base, and the illustration at p. 271 is partially detached. The text block is cracked a couple of times at the beginning. There are damp stains in the top fore edge corners of roughly half of the pages. Tanned pages. Bleiler CFL.
