269pp. Small octavo [20 cm] Black cloth covered boards with black, white and orange illustrated title labels on the spine and front cover. The top edge has the publisher's red stain. Orange and black illustrated endsheets. Very good. The spine is mildly rolled, and the spine ends and edges of the covers are gently bumped and rubbed. The pages are tanned. Page 114 is a bit stained. The dust jacket is in good condition only. Tattered and torn at the edges. Also rubbed, age-toned, and a little soiled. Price-clipped.
Illustrated by George Herriman, the creator and illustrator of Krazy Kat. Don Marquis also created Freddy the Rat, Warty Bliggens the Toad, Hermione, and The Old Soak. The work of Don Marquis appeared frequently in the New York Sun and the Saturday Evening Post, among other places.
