223pp. Quarto [31 cm] Light blue cloth covered boards with yellow ink stamped titles. Bright yellow decorative endpapers. Very good. The edges of the spine and covers are very subtly sunned, and the pages are just a little age-toned. In a very good dust jacket, with 4 small closed tears in the lightly creased and chipped edges, and mild rubbing on the surface.
From the foreword- "Maxfield Parrish was one of the better known professional artists during the first decades of this century. His many illustrations for children's books and for such publications as Scribner's Magazine, Century Magazine, Life, Saint Nicholas and Collier's were executed in a wholly personal style that set his work apart from that of his contemporaries and brought him a degree of public recognition seldom achieved by a living artist."
