George Reynolds was chosen as the "polygamy test case," and he gained nationwide notoriety in the Supreme Court case known as Reynolds v. United States. This biography reveals that George Reynolds was more than just a "sacrificial lamb" in the fight over polygamy between the government of the United States and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was also a principal player in the major events and issues in Mormon history throughout the last half of the nineteenth century, and was greatly admired for his monumental work, Concordance to the Book of Mormon.
