Description

277pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] Forest green cloth over boards with the title stamped in gilt on the spine, and embossed designs on the front cover. Good. The spine ends and corners are bumped, and the spine is slanted. There are a handful of minor stains on the covers, and about 1/3 of the front cover is barely perceptibly sunned. There is a bookseller's small ink stamp on the front pastedown, and the free endsheets are discolored. The text block is cracked a couple of times. Bleiler checklist. The earlier UK edition is cited in Reginald (00883).

Comments

A story in which the land from the "Beyond" hangs over a Sussex farm, creating an atmosphere of mystery and tension. Here, the emotions which possess a dying man, after his body has ceased to function, continue to exist.
