252pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] Red cloth spine with light gray paper covered boards, a gilt stamped title on the spine, and a red ink stamped bison vignette on the front cover. Very good. Moderately rubbed, bumped and darkened at the extremities. The price-clipped pictorial dust jacket is in good condition only, with a large loss from the top edge of the rear panel and the head of the jacket's spine, removing half a sentence of the blurb. There are numerous small open and closed tears along the edges and folds. Darkened, more so at the spine. There are several pieces of tape on the verso of the jacket. From the collection of Berkeley book collector and letter press printer, John Ruyle, with his notes in pencil on the front free endsheet. Bleiler CFL. Reginald 01040. Listed in "American Lost-Race Fiction: The Stuart Teitler Collection," a catalog produced in 2008 by Serendipity Books of Berkeley, California.
A prehistoric fantasy of Cro-Magnons, with a Lynx and an Amazon chieftainess. From the dust jacket- "The story of the Lynx and the Amazon chief Spring-on-the-Prairie brings up from buried years the superstition, cruelty and poetic yearning of what was until recently a lost world."
