The spine is rolled, and the cloth at the spine ends and corners is frayed. A large portion of the front free endsheet has been cut out. The endsheets are cracked along the hinges, and the crack in the front endsheet has been neatly dabbed with glue. The pages are tanned. From the collection of Berkeley book collector and letter press printer, John Ruyle, with his notes in pencil on the front free endsheet.
A morbid and macabre tale involving hideous poison and the degeneration of the brain by addiction to absinthe (wormwood).
